Nestled in the Cheshire countryside near Nantwich, Clayways is a friendly ceramics studio where creativity, community and wellbeing come together.
Whether you are looking for pottery classes, wheel throwing lessons, handbuilding workshops or simply a peaceful place to escape the pressures of everyday life, you’ll find a warm welcome waiting for you.
Our studio has been designed for complete beginners, returning potters and experienced makers alike. You do not need any artistic experience to join us.
All you need is curiosity and a willingness to have a go. We believe everyone can enjoy working with clay and create something they are proud of.
We’re a small but passionate team of potters and teachers, and nothing makes us happier than seeing people smile as they discover the joy of making. Our studio is a relaxed, friendly space where learning from our mistakes are part of the fun. Check out some of our student pots and see what they’ve been creating.
Our superstar Jess loves all things hand building and experimenting with glazes to create new finishes.
Come and play with clay! Our workshops are hands-on, fun, and perfect for all abilities. Whether you’re joining us for a one-off creative treat or signing up for memberships you’ll leave with pots (and memories) you’ll treasure.

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and lots of laughs and support.
No firing charge for any pots you take home.

Bring a little handmade magic into your home. Our pottery is crafted by hand in small batches – no two pieces are ever the same. From rustic mugs and bowls to joyful decorative pieces, every pot has its own story.
Our pottery journal is where we share studio stories, tips and tricks, behind-the-scenes moments, and a few muddy laughs along the way.
