Clayways: A Pottery Studio Where Everyone Belongs
We’re a little pottery studio in the heart of Cheshire, where muddy hands and happy faces come together to create something beautiful.
What is a studio session?
Our studio sessions are all about giving you the space, support, and freedom to enjoy working with clay in your own way. We open our studio for two full days a week and on alternative Saturday mornings. The rest of the time we make our own pottery items for commissions and sales.
Each open session is limited to just four people, so it always feels calm, unhurried, and personal. You’ll have full access to all the studio facilities, whether that’s the wheel, hand-building tools, or glazing areas. You’ll be supported by experienced potters throughout, so if you need guidance, ideas, or a bit of help getting unstuck, we’re right there with you. But equally, if you’re happy getting on with your own thing, you’ll have the space to do that too.
There’s no set project and no pressure. Everyone works on what they want to make, at their own pace. Some people come with a clear idea; others figure it out as they go. Both are absolutely fine.
One of the loveliest parts? The atmosphere. You’ll be surrounded by other friendly, like-minded people, all creating their own pieces, sharing ideas, and often inspiring each other without even realising it.
It’s your time, your space, and your creativity – we’re just here to help you make the most of it.
Session Options and Pricing
Simple, flexible pricing – so you can create your way
We’ve kept our pricing nice and straightforward, so you can choose what works best for you.
Pay as you go
£45 per adult session
£25 for children (12 and under)
This covers your studio time to make your pottery piece.
If you’d prefer not to come back, that’s absolutely fine – we can finish your piece for you with a clear glaze, ready for collection.
If you’d like to return and add your own personality to your piece, you can book a follow-up glazing and decorating session for £35.
Or, if you already know you’ll want the full experience, you can book both sessions together for £80.
Bundle and save
Lots of our regulars love having time set aside to really develop their skills, so we offer a five-session bundle for £199 – perfect if you’re getting the pottery bug (it happens quickly!).
Membership options
If you’d like to make Clayways part of your routine, our memberships offer great value and a lovely rhythm to your creativity:
Membership 1 – £75 per month
One session to make + one session to glaze each monthMembership 2 – £120 per month
Two making sessions + one glazing session each month
Memberships are payable by standing order or bank transfer before the end of each month.
If you’re heading off on holiday, just let us know in the month before and we’ll work around it. And if you ever need to cancel, we simply ask for one month’s notice.
However you choose to join us, everything is designed to be easy, welcoming, and completely pressure-free – just turn up, get creative, and enjoy every minute.
