Whether you’d love a new creative hobby, want to improve your pottery skills or dream of one day selling your own work, our Pottery Tuition Pass gives you the time, support and flexibility to learn at your own pace.
Unlike a traditional weekly course, your five sessions don’t have to be taken on consecutive weeks. Simply book them whenever it suits you and draw them down as and when you’re ready. Come regularly or spread them out over time – it’s completely up to you.
Every session is tailored around you. You might want to master the potter’s wheel, learn handbuilding techniques, improve your glazing, explore sculpture or simply enjoy spending a couple of relaxing hours creating with clay. Whatever your goals, we’ll help you achieve them.
Our classes are deliberately kept small, with a maximum of just four students and one or two experienced tutors, so everyone receives plenty of individual guidance. The studio has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where it’s easy to build confidence, share ideas and make lasting friendships with other like-minded pottery enthusiasts.
Some of our students come simply for the enjoyment of making beautiful things and escaping the stresses of everyday life. Others develop their skills to the point where they begin selling their work at markets, online or through galleries. Wherever you are on that journey, we’re here to support and encourage you every step of the way.
Whether you’re discovering pottery for the very first time or refining techniques you’ve already started to learn, you’ll leave each session with new skills, growing confidence and plenty of inspiration for your next project.
Join our friendly Clayways community and discover just how rewarding working with clay can be. We can’t wait to help you create something you’ll be proud of.

Every piece of pottery at Clayways is individually handmade and glazed, making it completely unique. The photographs on our website are examples of previous work, so your finished piece may vary slightly in colour, pattern and glaze effects. That’s part of the beauty of handmade ceramics—no two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Most of our pieces can be personalised with names, dates, handwritten messages, or children’s drawings. You can upload your document on the order form or if you have problems with this, once you’ve placed your order, simply email us the details (and any photos of handwriting) to hello@clayways.co.uk using your full name as the subject line. For the clearest results, please send handwriting on plain white paper using a dark pen. If you’d like to chat through your ideas before ordering, we’re always happy to help — just send us a message.
Every piece is handmade to order in our Cheshire pottery studio, so please allow four weeks for us to create your item plus delivery time. We handcraft, personalise, glaze, and kiln-fire each piece individually — that’s what makes it unique. If you need something for a specific date or occasion, please let us know and we’ll do our best to help.
We offer free shipping in the UK on all orders over £30. All items are carefully packaged and shipped via a tracked parcel delivery service for peace of mind. Your finished piece will be securely wrapped to ensure it arrives safely. We have flat rate delivery costs for the rest of the world and these are shared at the point of order.
Most of our ceramics are available in a range of soft, natural glaze colours — see the options on each product page for what’s currently available. Many personalised items can also be finished with a hand-painted gold, silver, or copper gilt edge for an extra touch of elegance. If you have a specific colour in mind for a bespoke order, just ask — we’d love to help.

"Had an absolute blast this morning playing with clay at ClayWays with Tracey. We went as a group of four and after abit of time gathering some inspiration we all got to work. It was such a relaxing time. Chatting, listening to music and creating our pieces. Tracey was so knowledgeable and patient, giving tips and tricks were needed while also letting our creative juices flow and we all managed to make some really lovely pieces. We can't wait go back again to finish them off with paint and glaze. I would fully recommend ClayWays to my friends and family"
